Technical Services Centre (TSC)

Established at Lahore in 1975 to assist the metal and metallurgical industriesof Pakistan by solving their technical problems, increasing and imroving productivity through transfer of technology, reducing wastes and the to save foreign exchange through indigenous development of various components and alloys. TSC has a staff of 72 personnel (18 scientists and engineers).

 

The services of this centre and widely utilized by automotive, agricultural, iron and steel foundries, rolling mills and forging units, textile, defense, power plants, gas pipe lines, chemical, cement and furtilizer industries.

 

Earnings: (22.8% of budget)

Development:: Iron Crankshafts and connecting rods for tractors, High strength low alloy steels, Uranium ore grinding dises, Kovar metal sheets, High silicon cast iron anodes for gas pipe line protection, High strength heat resistant nickel alloys, High strength alloys (copper-aluminum, iron-chromium-aluminum, nickel- manganese),

Failure analyses:: Boiler tubes, railway tracks, non-ferrous alloy tubes, gas cylinders, etc.

Inspection and evaluation:: Inspection of welded gas pipe line joints and metallurgical evaluation of auto parts, stainless steel and high alloy steel and castings; Chemical and instrumental analysis: Ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and castings.
